This is made of clay and wood. It took me SO LONG to sculpt the figure. Human proportions are so hard to get right!! Especially when you have to make it look good from all angles. The cross took me so long to make too, considering how easy it looks to make. BUT it is not! Especially when you have no woodwork expertise and you're home alone with no one to help you. Yep, so here it is. The photo doesn't really do it justice though because the figure is supposed to be really glossy.

One thing I really wish is that the wood would've looked darker, old, rugged and really dangerous with splinters and rusty nails coming off it. Like you'd get cut just by touching it. Haha. But I just couldn't find one given the time I had. Oh well, I'm still quite satisfied with this one.

thanks!
i don't think it's blasphemous. i am not saying that jesus was female and played the guitar. i'm just commenting about culture, that's all. i did consider it may be blasphemous though...but yeh ..not my intention.

Hey there,

Nice Work, if you want a more weathered look in any medium to soft wood (pine / cedar / balsa) it can be achieved using a little fire and sand paper a coarse grit so it doesn't look finished also rasps and files do a good job. If the wood is a bit harder (Walnut / Oak) invest in a Dremmel or a good mallet and a few chisels. Just a tip from someone who does some wood carving and sculpting.
